Propak Africa 2016 - Plastics and Packaging Exhibition
Propak Africa together with Print Expo, Pro-Plas Africa Expo, Pro-Label Africa and FoodPro, is the largest and most successful packaging, food processing, labelling, printing and plastics exhibition held on the African continent, an event that skilfully harnesses the synergy and strengths of the various inter-linking industries.
At the highly successful 2009 show, many of the largest, most progressive players in these industry sectors took part, showcasing latest global trends, technology Plastic Packaging Exhibitionadvancements, new products, systems and services, and the important role these industries play in the production and marketing of products.
Exhibitors at previous shows have consistently described the experience as a good return on investment and were delighted with the high-calibre quality of visitors and the high number of machinery and equipment sales off stands.
The exhibition attracts local and international buyers from all over Africa and beyond. Visitors cited the benefits of attending the event as seeing "cutting edge technology and trends on display", "an ability to source new suppliers", "able to obtain latest industry information and knowledge", "great educational value, specifically product demonstrations", "the availability of a wide variety of exhibitors", and "an interesting and exciting event." 27% felt that companies that had not participated had done themselves a disservice.

Although the basic function of packaging is to preserve and protect the pack contents, packaging - particularly in the retail market - has become a fascinating marketing tool that is used to promote and sell products, moving them from shelf-Packaging Product Exhitionto-trolley. Although packaging remains an essential part of modern life - allowing people to consume fresh, uncontaminated food and beverages wherever they want in the quantities needed - once it has performed its function, packaging can become cumbersome waste. New technologies enabling the packaging industry to reduce mass without compromising the basic function of the pack, recycling innovations, new designs and materials will all be showcased at Propak Africa
