Industrial Paper Shredder Procurement Guide

An industrial paper shredder is a heavy duty, high capacity machine designed for continuous, round the clock operation to process large volumes of paper based materials. Unlike office shredders, which are built for intermittent, light duty use, industrial shredders are production grade equipment that handle tonnes of material per hour. They are used not only for destroying confidential documents but also for recycling cardboard, bales, production waste, and even mixed materials like CDs, hard drives, and credit cards.

Common Application Scenarios

Warehouse and distribution recycling: large volumes of corrugated cartons, void fill, papers and damaged packaging.
Archive and confidential document destruction: bound files, ledger books, hard disks, and boxed archives in bulk.
Cardboard and paper core processing: rolls, cores, and trimmings that are too dense or too large, corrugated cardboard, etc.

Key Specifications for Procurement Decisions

1. Throughput Capacity

Match the machine’s kg/h or tonnes/h rating to your average daily volume. A good rule of thumb is to select a model whose rated throughput is 1.5 to 2 times your expected peak hourly volume, leaving headroom for bale density variation and future growth.

2. Rotor / Blade Configuration

Single shaft shredders - Use a rotor with cutting knives against fixed counter-knives. They produce uniform particle sizes and are ideal for recycling and controlled output.

3. Particle Size / Shredding Outcome

– Different applications require different output sizes.

– Look for machines with quick change screens to adjust particle size on the fly.

4. Other Factors

Paper dust is combustible, so look for sealed cutting chambers, dust extraction ports, and optional spark detection. Variable-frequency drive, auto-reverse on overload, and PLC integration with conveyors and balers reduce operator labor and downtime. Blade material, resharpenability, and screen replacement cost dominate the total cost of ownership.

GENOX Industrial Paper Shredders – Engineered for Performance

When paper waste stops being a trash problem and becomes a throughput, compliance, and recycling-revenue problem, GENOX offers a complete lineup engineered around low-to-medium-speed, high-torque shredding technology that handles newspaper, magazines, confidential documents, paperboard, and corrugated cartons while controlling dust to avoid secondary contamination.

Relevant Product Series

·V Series Single Shaft Shredder

Power: 18.5-75 kW, throughput: approx. 300-5,000 kg/hr.

This is the optimal solution for mid‑volume archive destruction, packaging waste treatment and warehouse carton volume reduction. Long‑life counter‑knives are adjustable to maintain optimal cutter clearance.

·BH Series Single Shaft Shredder

Power: 90-320 kW, throughput: approx. 1500-12000 kg/hr.

It features an extra‑robust rotor for high‑hardness and dense‑load materials such as laminated board and paper cores. Its heavy‑duty, wear‑resistant mechanical structure is well‑suited for heavy‑duty recycling assignments.

Why GENOX Stands Out
