INSERT MOLDING TECHNOLOGY: When a metal, plastic or ceramic part needs to be embedded in plastic to improve product structure it is called Insert Molding. It is a widely used process and one that YOMURA TECHNOLOGIES specializes in. With Insert Molding, a part is placed in a mold cavity then a selected plastic material is injected directly over it resulting is a single part with the insert(s) encapsulated by the material. This process normally uses engineering plastics for improved wear resistance, tensile strength and weight reduction. Insert Molding can be a highly efficient alternative to the assembly of discrete parts using soldering, connectors, fasteners, or adhesives. It also expands plastic capabilities and can reduce final product cost by limiting the amount of costly metal needed to create a part. And importantly, because we can use conventional single shot injection machines for Insert Molding, tooling costs are lower than with a multi-shot processing. Benefits: Reduced assembly and labor costs Because insert molding joins numerous components with thermoplastic, assembly and labor costs are greatly minimized. For example, a single stamping can be overmolded, then perforated to create multiple circuit paths. Reduced size and weight By eliminating fasteners and connectors, and by combining the physical strength of resin and metal inserts, insert molding yields smaller and lighter components. Increased reliability With every part tightly secured in thermoplastic, an insert molded component prevents part loosening, misalignment, improper terminations, and other problems. The thermoplastic resin also provides improved resistance to shock and vibration. Increased design flexibility Designers appreciate the virtually unlimited configurations that insert molding allows. For example, in creating a 3D circuit board, overmolding permits circuitry to move freely through the part, from inside to outside, up walls, down in holes-and the plastic ties it all together. BTD-8808 is a nucleating agent specifically for polylactic acid (PLA). It exhibits good compatibility with PLA resin and remains stable at processing temperatures. During the cooling process of PLA resin melt, it induces epigenetic crystallization of PLA molecules, thereby accelerating crystallization, shortening the molding cycle, and improving the heat resistance, flexural modulus, and surface gloss of the finished product. BTD-8808 can be used in food contact materials. The recommended dosage of BTD-8808 is 0.3~0.5 phr of the resin. When compounded with PLA and other resin granules, other dispersants can be used appropriately to promote uniform dispersion. This product can be used directly in the base resin or processed into a masterbatch of a certain concentration.

In terms of volumes, one of the largest sections in film recycling is certainly composed by post-consumer film waste. Post-consumer film quality can significantly vary according to the market conditions and mainly depends on the type of collecting and pre-sorting systems which are employed by the recyclers. The material collected may present different degrees of humidity and contamination. In addition, waste film is often in very different printing conditions and shapes. The main contaminations to be treated in post-consumer film are represented by the high quantity of organics as well as different polymers (such as multi-layers and PP). For example, multi-layer films are composed of a variety of materials, and often even contain metallic components. For these films to be treated, a preliminary sorting section should be foresen. PE film is used abundantly in the packaging industry, meaning that it reaches most households as a container for many items of daily use. PE films may serve as wraps to preserve food, garbage bags, grocery bags and goods packaging. PP films are also widely used as food wraps as well as woven bags. Beier Machinery film washing lines can assure a precise and efficient decontamination of the post-consumer film with both cold and hot washing systems, adopting the most efficient recycling technologies.
