NBR is an unsaturated rubber made from the copolymerisation of butadiene (BD) and acrylonitrile (ACN), which is usually known by several names, such as Bunan, NBR, etc. The content of acrylonitrile (ACN) determines the key properties of NBR, which provides different degrees of oil resistance and low temperature resistance. The content of acrylonitrile (ACN) determines the key performance of NBR, providing different degrees of oil resistance and low temperature resistance, so NBR is also the most commonly used oil resistant rubber.
- Lubricating oil resistant
- Resistant to hydraulic oil
- Mineral oil resistant
type | Low acrylonitrile | Medium to high acrylonitrile | Medium to high acrylonitrile | High acrylonitrile |
Acrylonitrile content (%) | <25% | 25~31% | 31~36% | 36~50% |
characteristic | Extremely low temperature resistant | Medium oil resistance/low temperature resistance | Oil resistant | High oil resistance |
