【2018 Taipei PLAS and ShoeTech Taipei Has Successfully Closed and Presented One-Stop Sourcing Platform】

2018 Taipei International Plastics and Rubber Industry Show (Taipei PLAS) and Taipei International Shoe Making Technology Show (ShoeTech Taipei) has been successfully closed on Aug. 19. The two shows showcased a series of “Made in Taiwan” machines and products that are highly efficient and precise, automated, intelligent, eco-friendly and energy-saving to present a complete plastics, rubber and shoemaking supply chain. After 5 days of action-packed exhibition, more than 18,000 visitors from home and abroad, including those from China, India, the Philippines, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, U.S.A., and Vietnam, attended the show. The concurrent shows have become the prominent professional trade shows that presented a one-stop sourcing platform providing total solutions.
Taipei PLAS and ShoeTech Taipei gathered domestic and international indicative companies showing the newest machines and technologies and attracted machinery agents, plastics and rubber products and packing manufacturers, even representatives from Nike, Under Armor and their OEM factories to visit the shows. For example, sales persons in FCS have received orders on the first day of the show and presented the company’s newly developed smart injection molding solution that attracted buyers’ attention. Whereas, a representative from Ektron TEK was satisfied with the effectiveness of the show. He has received 5 to 6 formal inquiries during the show and also made contacts with new buyers from India, Malaysia, and Bangladesh. On the other hand, top managers in PAILUNG Machinery and Horng Chi Machine from ShoeTech Taipei also gave positive feedback toward the show. They have met visitors from well-known shoe brands and their factories and suppliers and made contacts with buyers from India, South Eastern Asia and Middle East.
Numerous foreign visitors also praised the products and services offered in the show. For instance, a buyer from Mexico expressed that Taiwan machinery manufacturers provide high quality products and services that are in line with market trends and thus came to Taipei PLAS to purchase plastic processing machine. Another buyer from Romania stated that he was very satisfied with the machines that was bought from Taiwan years before, and he has made contacts with 7 Taiwanese blown film machine and bag making machine manufacturers during the show. Moreover, buyers from Japan indicated that Taiwan-made shoemaking machines are highly automated and are at par with international standard, and they came to ShoeTech Taipei to seek for Taiwanese shoemaking machines.
Besides abundant exhibits and business interactions happening in the showground, TAITRA invited top executives from Engel, Wittmann Battenfeld, Arburg alongside with those from domestic distinctive firms FSC, Diing Kuen, Hiwin and Fong Kee to share insights on the latest trends and how the concept of Industry 4.0 can be applied in plastics and rubber industry at Taipei PLAS Summit, which attracted more than 150 attendants. In addition, TAITRA also invited 30 overseas buyers from 14 countries to participate in 90 one-on-one procurement meetings with local exhibitors to help companies explore business opportunities.
